Munich’s Oktoberfest 2026 runs from 19 September to 4 October, but you don’t need a flight to Bavaria to raise a Maß. Australian cities celebrate right through October, and a few venues keep going into November.
This guide lists every Oktoberfest 2026 event we could confirm in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide, along with dates, venues, prices and ticket status. We checked every listing against the organiser’s own website or ticketing page in late September 2026. Events do change and sell out, so confirm with the venue before you go.

About Oktoberfest in the Gardens: this touring festival is the biggest single-day Oktoberfest in most Australian cities, with big-top beer halls, German food stalls, oompah bands and DJs, a sideshow alley and a silent disco. Sessions typically run 1pm to 9pm and are 18+. Every 2026 date is now sold out, so only buy resale tickets through the official ticketing partner. For the rest of the season, the German clubs and beer halls below are your best option.
Oktoberfest Sydney
Munich Brauhaus, The Rocks
Munich Brauhaus (the former Löwenbräu Keller) runs Oktoberfest from 19 September to 25 October 2026. Expect Bavarian feasts, German beer by the litre, live music and themed party nights in its heritage building on the corner of Playfair and Argyle Streets. No festival ticket is needed. Just book a table, and book early for Friday and Saturday nights.

Oktoberfest in the Gardens, The Domain
Sydney’s big one-day festival takes over The Domain on Saturday 31 October 2026, from 1pm to 9pm. General admission was $79.90 and VIP $159.90, and both have sold out. As the last Oktoberfest in the Gardens date of the season, it’s a fitting way to close out October.
Sydney’s German clubs
Sydney’s German community venues have hosted Oktoberfest for decades. The Concordia Club in Tempe and the Jagerstube beer hall in Schofields (one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere) both run Oktoberfest celebrations each year, with pork knuckle, festival beer and live Bavarian music. Neither had published its 2026 program when we checked, so contact them directly before you go.

Oktoberfest Melbourne
Hofbräuhaus Melbourne
Melbourne’s Hofbräuhaus is celebrating its 58th Oktoberfest, with six weeks of festivities from 19 September to 31 October 2026, open 11:30am to 11:30pm. There are more than 16 imported German beers (lagers, Weissbier, dark lagers and bocks), sausages and schnitzels, and live music from Thursday to Sunday.
Book an entry ticket through Eventbrite, then reserve a table separately with the Hofbräuhaus, because the entry ticket doesn’t include seating. The event is 18+.

Munich Brauhaus, South Wharf
This 900-seat riverside beer hall runs Oktoberfest from 19 September to 25 October 2026. The highlight is the Biergarten Party on Saturday 10 October, with live bands, DJs and competitions. Hungry? The Winner Schnitzel Challenge is a 1.5 kg veal schnitzel with all the sides and a litre of Munich lager for $99. No ticket is required, only a table booking.

Oktoberfest in the Gardens, Catani Gardens
Melbourne’s big outdoor festival is on Saturday 17 October 2026 at Catani Gardens on the St Kilda foreshore. It has sold out.

Oktoberfest Brisbane
Brisbane German Club, Kangaroo Point
The Brisbane German Club runs one of the country’s best Oktoberfests, and it lasts all month: every weekend in October 2026. Doors open at 5pm on Fridays and 11am on Saturdays and Sundays. The club claims Australia’s widest range of German beer on tap.
Pre-sale tickets:

- Saturday twilight entry from 5pm: $40
Tickets at the door are $65 for Saturdays from 11am and $45 for all other sessions. Every ticket includes a commemorative half-litre glass stein to keep and your first fill of any tap beer (or a non-alcoholic beer or soft drink). Look out for the Schnucki pop-up store if you still need a dirndl or lederhosen.

Oktoberfest in the Gardens, Brisbane Showgrounds
Brisbane’s one-day festival is on Saturday 10 October 2026 at the Brisbane Showgrounds, and it has sold out. The Gold Coast gets its own edition on the same day at Broadwater Parklands, which has also sold out.

Oktoberfest Perth
Rhein-Donau Club, Myaree
Perth’s German club turns into a Bavarian beer tent every Friday and Saturday night in October, plus the first weekend of November. Opening night is Friday 2 October 2026, and doors open from 6pm to midnight. There are two beer halls, Weihenstephaner on tap, German food, live music, competitions, a shooting gallery and performances by the Edelweiss Dance Group.
The evening sessions are 18+. The exception is the family all-ages day on Sunday 1 November. Tickets are currently sold out, but you can join the wait list on the club’s TryBooking page.

Oktoberfest in the Gardens, Langley Park
Perth’s biggest single-day Oktoberfest takes over Langley Park on Saturday 10 October 2026. It has sold out.

Oktoberfest Adelaide
Oktoberfest in the Gardens, Pinky Flat
Adelaide gets the first Oktoberfest in the Gardens date of the season, on Saturday 3 October 2026 at Pinky Flat on the banks of the Torrens, opposite Adelaide Oval. It runs 1pm to 9pm and has sold out.
Hahndorf
Australia’s oldest surviving German settlement doesn’t run an official Oktoberfest. Its pubs and restaurants still celebrate through October, with German feasts, imported beer and live accordion music. The German Arms, the Hahndorf Inn (which has its own beer hall) and The Haus are the usual hosts. It’s a 30-minute drive from the CBD, so plan for a designated driver or book accommodation.
The German Club, Brooklyn Park
The German Club’s “Original Adelaide Oktoberfest” is a long-running favourite, with contests, live Euro party music and a Bavarian-style beer hall and garden. For 2026 the club moved its big celebration to May with Maifest, and it hadn’t announced an October date when we checked. Keep an eye on its website at 41 Airport Road, Brooklyn Park.

Tips for Oktoberfest in Australia
- Book a table, not just a ticket. At the beer halls, a table booking is what gets you a seat. Friday and Saturday nights fill up weeks ahead.
- Dress up. Much of the crowd will be in dirndls and lederhosen. See our 15 Oktoberfest outfit ideas for where to buy them in Australia.
- Know your beer. Festival beer is usually a Märzen or Festbier of around 5.8 to 6% ABV, served by the litre. A one-litre Maß of 6% beer is almost five standard drinks, so pace yourself.
- Get home safely. Pre-book a ride or use public transport. Beer halls operate under RSA rules, so staff will stop serving anyone who’s had too much.
